Hotel Les Aubépines

It is the best place for visiting Illiers. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom unusually roomy. We appreciated the light fixtures that are more flexible than in most other places. The parking was perfect.

It was excellent - we were spending a day in Illiers Combray to visit some sites, especially the Marcel Proust museum, and it was so close to the train station I did not believe it - but it was still on a lovely residential street. The host who checked us in was friendly and amusing, and the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was good - not fancy but very tasty and fresh.

nice little hotel. it’s right next to the railway station, but there are only two trains a day, so you don’t have to worry about being woken up! bedrooms modern and comfortable with nice sized bathrooms

the welcome, short location off the motorway made it easy to find in a charming small historical town
